Introduction
In this tutorial we will show you how to use the Close Button Cookie feature in Divi Overlays. This feature is important, and will keep your visitors from getting annoyed! Once they close popup once, it won’t appear again for the specified numbers of days. So even if they leave the site and come back later, it won’t trigger again.
Step 1: Go to Divi Overlays Posts
1. Go to WordPress dashboard
2. Open Divi Bars CPT (Custom Post Type)
3. Go to your Divi Overlays post
Step 2: Setting Close Button Cookie
1. Scroll down to Close Button Customizations
2. Set the number of days in the slider, from 0 to 99.
The Close Button Cookie is set in days, so in the slider you can set how many days you want to until the overlay will appear again.
Save changes.
Now, when a user closes the Divi Overlay popup, it won’t keep showing again and again. 🙂
Note: if the user clears their cookies in their browser, or they viewed your site in an “incognito” or “private” browsing session, then this feature won’t work, and they will see the popup again.
